Face To Face Counselling
This is your time to reflect and explore what you are going through. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD, bereavement, low self-esteem or any other emotional difficulties, you can be confident in knowing that I will be able to support you through these challenging times. I can provide you with a tailored counselling approach in a safe and confidential environment, where you have the time and space to understand your thoughts and feelings, which will stay confidential between us.
Phone Counselling
We will be speaking over the phone and using CBT exercises, I will give you the tools to develop new ways of thinking and make positive changes in your life. Phone counselling is ideal for anyone who does not have the ability to attend face to face sessions or video calls. During this time, I will listen and gain an understanding of what you are experiencing and how it’s affecting you.
Online Counselling
My online counselling sessions are similar to my face to face sessions, except they are conducted over a video call – on platforms such as Zoom or VSee Messenger. This service offers similar benefits as face to face sessions, except it is much more convenient for you. We will use the time together for you to share what you are going through, so you don’t have to face this alone. I can help you work through the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing, all through a video call in the comfort of your own home.
Hello! My Name Is Mark
Level 4 Diploma In Therapeutic Counselling
I am able to provide you with a safe and confidential environment that gives you the opportunity to express how you feel without any judgement or discrimination. No matter whether you would like to have online counselling sessions or face to face sessions, here at From The Chair Counselling I can provide a professional service for an affordable price.
What To Expect
In our sessions, you will have the opportunity to discuss any difficult and confusing feelings you are experiencing. I will listen to you and gain an understanding of what you are going through or we can use CBT techniques to grow your self-awareness of what triggers certain behaviours and explore any beliefs you may have about yourself. This can either be in the comfort of your own home with my online counselling sessions, or face to face sessions in the office, so you can have the reassurance that you are in a professional, confidential, non-judgmental environment that you are comfortable in.
Here at From The Chair Counselling, I incorporate various styles of counselling into my sessions. This includes CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), where you can recognise certain patterns of behaviour in yourself and obtain an overall understanding on how you respond in different circumstances. Another approach is Person-Centered counselling, where I will gain an understanding of what you are experiencing and the emotions, feelings and thoughts you are going through in this difficult time. I also incorporate psychodynamic techniques where I can help you understand how the past is affecting you in the present.
To help you understand the counselling process, we can arrange an initial FREE phone assessment to discuss your goals and what you would like to achieve. I will also ask you a few questions to learn more about you and what you are going through. This is your chance to ask any questions you may have about the counselling process too.
If you would like to give online counselling a try, your first session with me will be free of charge, giving you the chance to decide whether I am the right counsellor for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do You Provide A Free Trial Session?
Yes, when booking online counselling, the first session will be free. This free session will help you to determine whether I am the right counsellor for you.
How Long Does A Counselling Session Last?
Whether you book a face-to-face counselling session, online counselling session or telephone counselling session, typically this will last no longer than fifty minutes.
Before booking your first session, you will receive a free twenty-minute phone assessment to discuss what has brought you to counselling and how you would like to use the sessions in more detail.
What Do I Need For An Online Counselling Session?
For online counselling sessions, all you need is a phone, tablet, laptop or computer and a good Wi-Fi signal. You may also want to use a pair of headphones during the session for increased privacy too. I would always recommend that you find a quiet room for your online counselling session away from others where you won’t be disturbed.
What Is A Counselling Contract?
A counselling contract is a mutual agreement between both of us that is signed at the start of your counselling sessions. Simply put, this contract will explain the terms and conditions of the counselling.
Do I Need To Have A Phone Assessment?
Yes, a phone assessment is actually really important. During the phone assessment, I can explain how the counselling process works and you can ask any questions that you may have about the sessions I provide. This initial conversation also enables me to gain more of an understanding of your situation.
Having a phone assessment provides you with an opportunity to decide whether you feel we will work well together as well.
How do I arrange a counselling session?
The best way to book a counselling session with me is to fill out the contact form on my website. You can also email me at [email protected] and I will get back to you as soon as possible to arrange an appointment for a date and time that is convenient for you. The other option is to contact me on 07598 122704 and leave a message. I will either text you or call you back, depending on the time I have available.
